In this research meeting we will discuss different aspects of mathematical modelling at the intersection of machine learning and visual computing. One specific focus will lie on the incorporation of prior knowledge (e.g. about physics laws or geometry) represented in the form of mathematical models, thereby achieving theoretical guarantees and reducing the amount of required (labeled) training data. Furthermore, we will discuss different (neural) representations in the fields of geometry processing, inverse imaging problems, and physics understanding from visual data.
