Access to buildings is only possible by entering your event's access code (code digits+‘F’, you will receive your event's code prior to your event), or with your room's key card. Inside the buildings, please wear your name badge clearly visible.
Should you plan to arrive outside of our service hours, please inform us by e-mail no later than the Thursday before the start of your seminar and use the Self-Service-Check-In.
Self-Service Check-In
- Entering through the front doors is only possible with the event's access code or your room's keycard.
- Near the reception in the newer main building you can log into the Self-Service Check-In terminal opposite the main entrance with your
DOOR credentials:
- The terminal will show you your room's number.
- Take a blank keycard and authorise it for your room using the terminal. This keycard will then allow you to access your room and to enter the center's buildings.
- Please pick up the ‘additional costs’ leaflet. It will contain a plan of the building and further important information. You might want to write down your room number on this leaflet.
- Please pick up your name badge from the reception desk and wear it clearly visible during your stay.
Closing hours
The building is closed from Saturday morning 10.00 am to Sunday afternoon 3.00 pm. Guests who plan to arrive on Saturdays may find hotel recommendations here.
A stay from Friday to Saturday is only possible on exception and on request.

Accommodation
Our rooms are primarily single rooms. A double bed room, a family room, a room with an extra-large bed, or a low-barrier room can be prepared for you on request.
If capacity allows, it is possible for you to bring along companions and / or children:
Accompanying persons and children must be registered, booked, and confirmed by Schloss Dagstuhl no later than 4 weeks before the start date of your event.
Please note that smoking is not permitted inside the buildings.

for Dagstuhl Seminars and Perspektives Workshops
As participant of a Dagstuhl seminar or a Dagstuhl perspective workshop, please also mind the following additional information.
Attention: There is differing information for participants of other events such as GI-Dagstuhl-seminars, summer schools, training programs, research group meetings, research stays, etc.
- Have you received your booking confirmation? Should you not have received a booking confirmation a week after your registration,
please contact us.
- Have you received your travel information? We usually send it 6 weeks before the start of the seminar to all registered participants by e-mail. It contains you event's "access code" for the entrance door.
- Arrival is usually scheduled for Sundays from 3 pm. Seminars usually start Monday morning at 9 am. Some seminars start later than Monday and have a different arrival day – please always check with the travel information you received by e-mail.
- Seminars are usually scheduled to end on Fridays, 12 noon. Departure is usually planned after lunch. Some seminars end before Friday – please always check with the travel information you received by e-mail.
- Dagstuhl owns a comprehensive Informatics specialised library, which organizes a special book exhibition, showing all books of participants available in the library, during all Dagstuhl Seminars and Dagstuhl Perspectives Workshops. Schloss Dagstuhl kindly requests the authors to sign their books.
- Many Dagstuhl Seminars and Dagstuhl Perspectives Workshops organize outings in the afternoons. Please be aware that some might cause additional costs which have to be paid in cash. Appropriate shoes are often recommended.

As participant of a GI-Dagstuhl-seminar, a summer school, a training program, a research group meeting, or a research stay, in short: any event that is not a Dagstuhl Seminar or a Dagstuhl Perspectives Workshop, please also mind the following additional information.
Attention: there is differing information for participants of Dagstuhl Seminars or Dagstuhl Perspectives Workshops.
- Program information and travel information as well as your event's "access code" for the entrance door will be send to you by the coordinator of your event. You have to register via the
DOOR guest portal as well to be able to access your room.
- Regardless of your informing the organisers, please make sure to use the
DOOR guest portal to inform us if you should not arrive or depart on the scheduled dates.
- Please inform the coordinator of your event should you wish to book a double room. The coordinator will pass it on to us. Please mind that accompanying persons you are planning to bring along must be announced well in advance.
