Call for Papers|for Dagstuhl Seminar Proceedings

In Dagstuhl seminars, important and active fields of informatics and interdisciplinary topics are discussed and participants present their ongoing work. Often, new ideas and insights are gained during the seminar. To make all these brand new information available to researchers very timely (compared to conferences or journals where the results presented are at least several months old), Dagstuhl Seminar Proceedings (DSP) will be published for each seminar.

Dagstuhl Seminar Proceedings have roughly a status like workshop proceedings or technical reports. They do not intend to replace conference publication!

Dagstuhl Seminar Proceedings are:

  • citable online publications,
  • consisting of work-in-progress presented during and papers & reports emerged from Dagstuhl seminars.

The Dagstuhl Seminar Proceedings contain:
(*)minimum requirements

  • (*)abstracts collection with short abstracts of each presentation + hyperlinks to full paper (if applicable), accomplished by
  • (*) executive summary .
  • Furthermore, they may contain
  • articles or draft papers of the individual seminar participants (or groups of authors) as well as e.g.
  • a digest or papers on the seminar as a whole.

The organizers of the seminar will play an editing / moderating role.

As long as it is not planned to publish the seminar results in a research monograph volume elsewhere, organizers and participants of each Dagstuhl seminar are asked to submit contributions including, but not restricted to:

Seminar wide contributions (by organizers or groups of participants)

(*) indicates expected minimum

  • (*)Executive summary: An elaborated description of the seminar (by the organizers), containing
    • introduction to the problem area + motivation, intelligible to all,
    • contents of the seminar,
    • results, scientific highlights and open questions.
    Format: pdf + meta data
  • Results of group work, discussion,...(pdf + meta data)
  • Open problems, challenges,...(pdf + meta data)
  • Full papers of any kind (pdf + meta data)
  • Books emerged from the seminar (pdf + meta data)

Individual contributions (by the participants)

(*) indicates expected minimum

  • (*)Complete and correct the meta data of your presentation. This meta data will be layouted and published as one section in the "abstracts collection".
Format: plain ascii, formulas may be written as tex.
  • An extended abstract of the talk
(pdf + meta data, pdf should be significantly more substantial than meta data abstract)
  • Elaborated paper on work-in-progress (pdf + meta data)
  • Full papers of any kind related to the seminar (pdf + meta data)

And, of course, if the Dagstuhl seminar yields in some full paper or even book, these are also very welcome.

(Supporting material of different formats like e.g. videos could probably be published in future; currently, it is under discussion.)

The deadline for submitting a proceedings contribution is within 2 months after the seminar.
