Data Privacy at dagstuhl.de
Schloss Dagstuhl - Leibniz Center for Informatics (German: Schloss Dagstuhl - Leibniz-Zentrum für Informatik (LZI)) takes privacy and protection of your data seriously and is in strict compliance with German privacy laws. Personal data is only requested, processed, and kept as required by law. We do not pass any of your data to other parties except when requested by law (on a case-by-case basis). In the following we detail the instances at LZI that process personal data.
Web Site in General
When accessing the LZI web presence, the following records are logged:
- user agent (browser) and version
- operating system
- referrer URL
- IP address
- date and time.
This data by itself is not associated with any person and LZI is not trying to establish such a connection. Any records kept have the sole purpose to improve LZI's web presence and its security.
LZI is using at its web presence so-called cookies. These are small data records that improve usability. These cookies are kept on your computer only while you visit LZI web pages and are deleted automatically, once you leave. Cookies provide no threat for your computer.
Web Pages for Dagstuhl Seminar Participants
For simple and effective communication among participants of Dagstuhl Seminars, LZI offers online support. Seminar related pages list your name, your home page (URL), and provide material you supplied (abstracts, slides) for download. We publish any of these only with your consent. Furthermore, LZI offers a wiki (collaborative forum) per seminar. Such a wiki is only accessible by the participants of the associated seminar. It is meant for quick and easy communication among participants. No analysis or evaluation of this data is conducted.
If you supply your name and email address for pages related to a seminar, they might be collected by search engines. Deleting this data from the records of a search engine will be most likely not legally enforceable. We therefore ask you to consider this when using web pages in association with seminars.
No Responsibility for linked-to pages
We exclude any responsibility for data privacy of pages that are linked-to from LZI’s web presence but are under the control of outside parties. However, we ask you to inform LZI when you notice links to extremist, hateful, racist, or otherwise illegal content. LZI will remove these links.
Data Exchange
LZI likes you to notice that data exchange between web servers and email servers of LZI and your own computer is generally unsecured. Therefore, outside parties might notice the data exchange and might tamper with it. Please consider this when communicating electronically with LZI.
Disclosure
Your have the right at any time to demand disclosure what personal data LZI is holding. Furthermore, you can demand deletion of this data. In such a case, please contact
Ralf Lehmann. If you have suggestions or questions about privacy at LZI, please contact
Ralf Lehmann.
