Summary

Raimund Seidel is Professor of Theoretical Computer Science at Saarland University. He has worked extensively in the design and analysis of algorithms and data structures, in particular for problems of geometric/combinatorial nature. He has developed some fundamental methods in this field that appear in many textbooks. He has co-authored about 75 publications.

Raimund Seidel has been on the program committee of major theoretical computer science conferences, such as IEEE FOCS, SODA, ICALP, ACM Symposium on Computational. He has been co-organizer of several Dagstuhl and Oberwolfach seminars, and he served on of the editorial boards of the journals Discrete & Computational Geometry, Computational Geometry: Theory and Applications, Journal of Universal Computer Science.
